When a cavity or tooth infection spreads causing a dental abscess which occurs when bacteria from a cavity grows and extends into the mouth face jaw or throat, you would need a surgical incision and drainage.

A dental abscess is a very painful condition which tends to increase as the infection worsens. The pus builds up at the site of the infection causing gum inflammation and tenderness.

When the abscess does not rupture and drain on its own, you might need to surgically drain the abscess in order to cure the infection.

Surgical incision and drainage is a commonly used technique in oral surgery to treat dental infections which have progressed to cause oral swellings.

The procedure is performed by making a small incision in the gums at the most prominent point of the oral swelling, the infection is then drained and the site of infection is irrigated with sterile saline solution.

This procedure needs a lot of care and precision, and we deliver just that. We at Al Sawai are known for our services and the quality of treatment that we deliver. You can book an appointment or visit us directly at our hospital for a consult.
